A word for every day

Confidence in His Work

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

Philippians 1:6

We are all 'works in progress.' Sometimes we feel discouraged by our lack of spiritual growth or our repeated mistakes. However, the ground of our confidence is not our own effort, but God's faithfulness. He is the Divine Author who started the story of your faith, and He is the finisher who will complete it. He does not abandon His projects. Every trial you face and every lesson you learn is a brushstroke in the masterpiece He is creating in your soul. Trust the process and trust the Artist. He is committed to your sanctification and will lead you safely to the day of Christ's return.
